Changes of Consumptive Demand and Economic Growth in Modern China Abstract: Since 1880s, China began the economic modernization. Comparing with traditional society, modern China experienced a transition from closed economy to open economy and natural economy to market economy. In addition, the essence of transition economy resulted in huge changes of consumptive demand in modern China, which influenced economic growth much. Adopting qualitative researoh and dynamic analyses, this paper demonstrates changes of the ovenall consumptive demand and macro economic effect of consumptive demand structure; furthermore, it illuminated the internal rule of consumptive demand changing and illustrates the historical mode of modern Chinese economic development.
